What the service is

Book Recommendations offers free calculators, checkers and guides for self-published authors. The tools run in your browser. The guides are published for information only. We may also offer paid products (such as ebooks, templates and courses), services, subscriptions and physical goods. Those are covered by the terms of sale and services, refund policy and delivery policy, in addition to these terms.

Free tools, no warranty

The site is provided free and "as is", without any promise that it is accurate, complete, always available or fit for a particular purpose. Results are estimates for planning. Platform rules, prices and fees change, and taxes, currency conversion and review decisions can change what you are paid or whether a file is accepted. Always confirm the final figure or requirement on the platform's own screen before you publish or price a book. See also the disclaimer.

Nothing on this site is legal, tax, financial, accounting or publishing-contract advice. Talk to a qualified professional about decisions that matter.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that results from using the site or relying on a tool or article, including lost sales, rejected files, incorrect prices or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the forms, send spam or unlawful content, try to break, overload or probe the site, or scrape it at a rate that harms other visitors. We may block access to protect the service.

Advertising integrity

Advertising helps keep the tools free, and advertisers and ad networks pay only for genuine views and clicks. You must not:

• click or tap on ads on this site to generate revenue or to harm an advertiser, or ask or pay anyone else to do so;
• use bots, scripts, click farms, automated refreshing, traffic exchanges, hidden frames or any other means to create artificial page views, ad impressions or clicks;
• send paid, incentivised or misleading traffic to the site, or encourage people to click ads;
• alter, hide, copy or tamper with ads, ad code, consent messages or tracking, or use the site in a way intended to defeat ad fraud detection.

Using an ad blocker or declining cookies is your choice and is not a breach of these terms. We and our advertising partners may monitor traffic for invalid activity, and may block access or report abuse to the people concerned.

Accounts

If we offer accounts, you must keep your login details secret and are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it. We may close accounts that are inactive, breach these terms, or are used for fraud.

Content you submit and copyright

If you post a comment, review or file, you must have the right to share it, and you give us the licence set out in the acceptable use policy. We respond to notices of copyright infringement under the process in our DMCA policy, and we may remove content and block repeat infringers.

Your content

Text, files and numbers you enter into the tools stay on your device and stay yours. Messages you send us may be used by us to reply and to improve the site.

Our content and intellectual property

Articles, tool text, design and code on this site belong to us or our licensors. You may quote short passages with a clear link back to the original page. Please do not republish whole articles or tools without written permission.

Sanctions and export

You may not use the site or buy from us if doing so would breach sanctions or export laws that apply to you or to us.

Trademarks and independence

Amazon, Kindle Direct Publishing, Barnes & Noble, IngramSpark, Lulu, Draft2Digital and Google are trademarks of their owners. Book Recommendations is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by them. Their names appear only to describe the platforms our tools work with.

Advertising, affiliate links and third-party links

We may show advertising from Google AdSense and from any other advertising network, exchange, platform or advertiser, and we may run our own advertising campaigns on search engines, social networks and other platforms. We may also include links to other websites, some of which may be affiliate or sponsored links. We do not control those sites, or the ads and offers shown by ad networks, and we do not endorse them. Ads and links never change a calculation or a recommendation. If you buy from or sign up with an advertiser or linked site, your agreement is with that company, not with us, and we are not responsible for what it sells, promises or does with your data. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover us for any claim, loss or cost that arises from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site, or content you send us that is unlawful or infringes someone's rights.

We may change, pause or remove tools, guides, ads or any part of the site at any time without notice. You may link to our pages freely, as long as the link does not suggest that we endorse you or your product.

General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, with the policies they link to, are the whole agreement between you and us about the use of the site. You may not transfer your rights under them; we may transfer ours if the site is sold or reorganised.

Changes and ending access
